Privacy Policy

Short version: We collect only what we need to run the site. We don't sell your data. We don't run ads. You can delete your account and data at any time by emailing contact@drawchance.com.

1. Who we are

DrawChance ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at drawchance.com. We provide probability tools and gambling math education. Questions about this policy can be sent to contact@drawchance.com.

2. What data we collect

Account data. If you create an account, we store your email address and a hashed (one-way encrypted) version of your password. We never store your plain-text password.

Saved simulations. If you save a simulation, we store the inputs, results, title, tags, and notes you provide. This data is linked to your account and visible only to you.

Email capture. If you submit your email via a newsletter form, we store that email address and the page you submitted it from. We use this only to send DrawChance-related updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Usage data. We may log standard server access data (IP addresses, browser type, pages visited) for security and performance purposes. We do not use this to build advertising profiles.

Contact messages. If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, and message. We use this only to respond to your inquiry.

3. What we do not collect

Payment card numbers (handled by Stripe if/when payment is processed — we never see your card)
Location beyond what your IP address reveals
Browsing history on other websites
Any data from minors — DrawChance is intended for adults 18+

4. How we use your data

To provide and operate the DrawChance platform and your account
To save and retrieve your simulations
To send you account-related emails (e.g. upgrade confirmations)
To send newsletter emails you've opted into (you can unsubscribe any time)
To improve tools and fix bugs based on how the site is used
To respond to contact form submissions

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it for anything beyond running DrawChance.

5. Cookies and local storage

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. We use browser localStorage to support the "rerun simulation" feature on tool pages — this stores your last simulation inputs temporarily in your own browser, not on our server.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

6. Third-party services

Chart.js is loaded from the jsDelivr CDN for chart rendering. jsDelivr may log standard CDN access data per their own privacy policy.

Stripe (when payment processing is active) handles payment transactions. DrawChance does not receive or store your card details.

OpenAI is used server-side by the admin AI assistant. Public users do not interact with OpenAI through DrawChance.

7. Data retention

We retain your account data and saved simulations for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we delete your data. Email captures are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.

8. Your rights

You can:

Access the data we hold about you by contacting us
Correct inaccurate data by updating your account or contacting us
Delete your account and all associated data by emailing contact@drawchance.com
Unsubscribe from any emails using the link in any email we send
Object to any processing we carry out — we'll explain what we can and can't accommodate

If you are in the EU or UK, you also have rights under GDPR / UK GDPR, including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

9. Security

Passwords are hashed using PHP's password_hash() with bcrypt. Database access is restricted. We use HTTPS. We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, though no system is perfectly secure.

10. Children

DrawChance is intended for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted data to us, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of DrawChance after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
